Campsites in the French Alps

During your stay at a campsite in the French Alps you will enjoy the beautiful countryside in this mountainous region. The many wonderful pine forests and the imposing mountain tops are a glorious sight to see and there is plenty to do in the vicinity of your campsite.

You will find many wonderful rivers and lakes in the French Alps. You can for example choose to stay at a camping site on Lake Geneva or the famous lake at Annecy. In the summer there is plenty to do; from sailing, surfing and swimming to more extreme sports like rafting, canoeing or canyoning.

Reserve a pitch in advance for your own tent or caravan at one of the beautiful campsites. In the French Alps you will also find campsites that offer the option of renting an accommodation like a mobile home or a bungalow tent.

In the high season there are usually great entertainment programmes for the children and many of the campsites also have swimming pools and various other sporting facilities. All in all this makes a holiday in the Alps a popular camping destination for the whole family!

Whatever you want to do there are plenty of options available for you to undertake something in the vicinity of your campsite. The French Alps have plenty on offer if you love sporting activities or cultural day trips.

• Outdoor sports in the Alps
  As well as the many water sport options, the Alps are a paradise for the outdoor athlete. You can of course take magnificent climbs, hikes or cycling trips. Road cycling and mountain cycling are very popular activities during a stay at a campsite. Alpe d’Huez, famous because of its role in the Tour de France, is a real challenge for every fanatic road cyclist.
• City trips
  When you go camping in the French Alps you can visit many famous cities like Grenoble and Geneva. The picturesque city of Annecy, with a lovely historical city centre is certainly worth visiting. Lyon is also an option; a part of the historical city centre is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
