Cookie Statement

When using the websites of ACSI Publishing BV and ACSI Touroperating BV, ACSI and/or an external party can aggregate information about your use of this website, for example, through cookies or pixel tags.

By using this ACSI website, you are agreeing to the use of cookies and pixel tabs in agreement with this Cookie Statement. If you do not agree with this use of cookies and pixel tabs by ACSI, then you should adjust your browser settings accordingly or refrain from using this ACSI website.

What are cookies and pixel tags?

Cookies are small files that are placed by a website internet page (and/or Flash applications) on a computer (or on other devices with internet access, such as a tablet or smartphone) and which can be read by the browser (including Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox) on opening an internet page. Cookies can remember your preferences when surfing the net and save them on your computer. A cookie contains the name of the website that has placed the cookie, the amount of time the cookie is stored on your computer and a value, usually a generated number or text.

A pixel tag (also known as a clear GIF) is a transparent image placed on various pages of the ACSI website. This image is not stored on your computer.

Why are cookies used?

ACSI uses cookies to simplify the use of the website, to discover improvements and in order to better align products and advertisements to your interests and requirements. Cookies simplify your internet use: for example, cookies remember your login names, passwords and preferences, such as your language settings. For example, you log in via My ACSI, by placing a cookie, on your following visit our system knows you have already logged in to our website. You therefore do not need to log in again.

Cookies also register your website visit for purposes related to measurements. Cookies can only remember preferences and interests based on visits and clicking behaviour. For example: it can keep track of how many visitors visit a specific web page so that ACSI knows which sections of the website are most popular.

The use of cookies is safe. No personal information, such as telephone numbers or e-mail addresses can be derived from the cookies. Cookies cannot be used for e-mail and telemarketing activities. ASCI cannot personally identify you based on the information stored by the cookies.

ACSI considers it important that you know which cookies are used and for which purposes they are used. ACSI wants to guarantee your privacy but also the user convenience of the websites.

Under 'Types of cookies’, there is more information about the cookies used by ACSI websites and for which purposes.

Which types of cookies and pixel tags are used?

On this ACSI website, we use two types of cookies: 'session cookies' and ‘persistent cookies'. Session cookies are temporary cookies that stay on your computer/device until you leave the ACSI website. A persistent cookie stays on your computer for longer, for example until they are removed manually. The amount of time the cookies stay on your device depends on the duration or ‘life span’ of the specific cookie and on your browser settings.

ACSI uses pixel tags. When you visit one of the pages, by loading the pixel tag information can be shared about the user’s behaviour. This information is not personally identifiable, although it can be linked to your personal details. If you turn off cookies via your browser, the pixel tag will detect an anonymous visit.

Are third party cookies used?

We work together with a number of parties that can also store cookies on your computer, for example cookies from social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter. And cookies that are important to display the right promotional adverts to you. These cookies are detailed and described at the bottom of this page.

Can cookies be turned off or deleted?

It is most probable that your browser automatically accepts cookies. You can change the settings in your browser so that cookies are blocked or so that you receive an alert when a cookie is placed on your computer. If you turn off or delete the cookies or pixel tags used by ACSI then, for example, we cannot guarantee that you can make a booking for a campsite.
