Holiday by the sea in France: Rental accommodation and pitches
3 February, 2023
The most beautiful thing about a holiday by the sea in France is certainly the epic view that can be enjoyed from the pitches and rental accommodation. Waking up in the morning to breakfast by the sea and enjoying the peace and quiet on the currently empty beach is an indescribably beautiful feeling of freedom and just right for a change of scenery on holiday.
There are many campsites in France that are by the sea and offer pitches for tents, camper vans and caravans. On the sites you will also find comfortable and fully equipped mobile homes with a sea view. Some of these campsites are located on the Atlantic coast, while others offer a view of the Mediterranean coast. Here I present a selection of pitches and mobile homes in France for your holiday by the sea.
1. Cottage right on the Atlantic coast
The 4-star campsite Sandaya Soulac Plage has a fantastic location on the Atlantic coast. Most of the pitches and mobile homes are located in the shady pine forest. Towards the sea, there are large sand dunes and Soulac’s long beach.
In addition to mobile homes and cottages specially designed for surfers, families or groups of friends, you can also choose from various cottages right by the sea. For example, for six people, for groups of up to ten people and for families of up to four people. Your dogs can also spend your holiday by the sea with you in these mobile homes.
In high season, Camping Sandaya Soulac offers a mini club and activity programmes for various age groups. There is also a playground, a covered water park, a multi-sports field and surfing and diving facilities.
And let’s not forget about the food at the campsite on the Atlantic: Fresh bread in the morning, a grocery shop, a snack bar, a communal barbecue area, a restaurant, a pizzeria and a bar await you.
2. Holiday by the sea in a chalet in Corsica
In the north-east of the island of Corsica, in a pine forest on the beach, you will find the beautiful chalet with a sea view at Camping Village Vacances Sandaya Cap Sud. This campsite is also visited by ACSI every year and over 200 facility features are inspected on site. The Campingvillage is one of the most beautiful campsites for families and is offered by Suncamp.
At Suncamp you have many different cottages and chalets to choose from. These include chalets on stilts, wheelchair accessible chalets, cottages for groups of friends, cottages with wellness facilities – and the popular chalet with a sea view.
This is designed for up to six people with three bedrooms and a total of 38 m². From the terrace you can look out over the final trees of the shady pine forest before the sea, the path to the sandy beach and the waves of the Mediterranean.
The campsite offers many opportunities for sports and adventure: E-bikes, activity programmes, bouncy castles for the little ones and a pool area under palm trees with slides and water fountains make for the perfect beach holiday!
3. Rental accommodation and pitches in Normandy
As the name suggests, the Sandaya L’Anse du Brick campsite is located in the village of Le Brick in Lower Normandy. On the hilly terrain you can choose from various pitches, cottages and even small villas for your perfect holiday by the sea.
The cottages come in different sizes between 30 m² and 35 m², designed for four to five people. One cottage is wheelchair accessible – here you can easily enter the cottage via the wooden ramp and onto the inviting terrace. You are welcome to bring your dogs to the cottages.
The villa with a sea view has a lovely terrace where you can have a delightful breakfast and enjoy the sound of the sea. The rental accommodation spans 80 m², with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has space for up to six people – dogs, however, are not permitted. The pitches with a sea view are also very spacious, ranging from 100 m² to 120 m², and you can choose between different plots separated by greenery.
In addition to the outdoor pool area, there is also a covered swimming pool in case the weather is not so good. Directly adjacent to this 5-star campsite is a beautiful, expansive sandy beach. In addition to hiking routes and surfing opportunities on the Normandy beach, you will also find numerous sports facilities at the campsite, such as a multi-sports field, tennis, bocce, beach volleyball and even a fitness room.
Fresh bread rolls, a snack bar, a grocery shop, a restaurant, a pizzeria and a bar have everything you could wish for in terms of culinary delights at the campsite.
4. Pitch in Pont-Mahé Bay on the Atlantic
The 4-star Sandaya Le Moulin de l’Eclis campsite is located in the bay of Pont-Mahé between the Atlantic Ocean and Brière Regional Nature Park. The region is known for both its sunny beach holidays and for its hiking trails in the nature park.
The pitch on the seashore is located under shady trees. The 90 m² pitch can accommodate up to six people. Do you have a dog? They are also very welcome at the 4-star campsite.
In addition to the outdoor pool, indoor pool, children’s pool, trampolines, playgrounds, sports facilities and entertainment, this campsite is the perfect place to go “island hopping” in the Gulf of Morbihan. Visiting the numerous small islands is a great way to get to know the Breton coast.
One of the most famous islands in the Gulf of Morbihan is Belle-Île-en-Mer, which features a breathtaking landscape and a rich culture. The island is rich in history and offers numerous sights, including the cliffs of Ploumanach and the castle of Sauzon.
5. Pitch by the Mediterranean Sea
The 5-star Camping Sandaya Les Tamaris is located by the Mediterranean Sea near the town of Frontignan, south of Montpellier. Frontignan is known for wide sandy beaches on a headland that separates the lagoon from the Mediterranean Sea. The region is characterised by numerous wine-growing areas that are open for tastings and tours. The town itself was founded as early as the 13th century and offers impressive sights, including the castle of Frontignan and the church of Notre-Dame de la Victoire.
The pitch on the seashore offers plenty of comfort with 120 m². It is suitable for up to six people and you are also welcome to bring your dog. Passing through a small gate, the short path leads directly to the beach.
On the campsite you will find a pool area with children’s pool, activity programmes for children (and adults) of all ages, a playground and many sports facilities. For a small surcharge, you can even go horseback riding or bring your own boat.
Holiday with the Sandaya campsite chain
Sandaya is a French campsite chain founded in 2010. The campsites are of high quality, often rated 4 or 5 stars. Over the years, Sandaya has become one of France’s leading campsite chains and is very popular with holidaymakers for its variety of accommodation and leisure facilities.
